Lookout for Jesus

Happy Sunday! It's been a lovely sunny day in Southwest Virginia! So glad the sun came out.
Bella and I went out and about today to see some sights along with a trip to Burke's (think Marshall's) and Petco.

These are shots from Big Walker Mountain Lookout, situated between Bland and Wythe counties on Big Walker Mountain. There is also a tunnel on 77 through the mountain I drive through on the way to work. It comforts me to know there are exit doors in the tunnel. Anyway, I wanted to wait and get here when the sun was out. Probably will come back when everything starts turning green.

Unexpected Leg Day! roughly 200 steps to the top!

There was a trail behind the store that used to be part of the Appalachian Trail but I guess isn't anymore. So I took my little mountain goat on a walk but we didn't make it all the way to Monster Rock as we were both de-conditioned. I 'lichen' the state of fatigue from those stupid steps. See what I did there?? Lichen? You moss admit it!

After that, we took a sojourn to the Smallest Church in Wytheville (and one of the smallest in the US) before we set out to Petco (where the pets go!). I'm going to be honest and admit I don't know the history of this church. But it's cute.

There are 4 small pews in here

I signed the guestbook, took a look around, and went on my way. Meanwhile, I stupidly left out these homemade dog treats I'd bought today and she not once, but twice got in to them!

See Mom? I did go to church this Sunday!

Peace, love, and cheese-
LMJ
